Lincoln Rampage Lacrosse Welcomes Jon Black as New Head Coach

Veteran Coach Brings 18 Years of Experience to Lincoln’s Premier High School Lacrosse Program

LINCOLN, NE, June 29, 2026 – Lincoln Rampage Lacrosse is excited to announce the appointment of Jon Black as the new head coach of its men’s lacrosse program, beginning in the 2026-2027 season. Black’s arrival signals a bold new era for Lincoln Rampage as the program aims to grow the game of lacrosse in Lincoln.

Coach Black joins Lincoln Rampage with extensive lacrosse experience, including nearly two decades spent as head coach at both the high school and collegiate level across the western United States. He led the program at Notre Dame de Namur University (NCAA Division II), where he became the most decorated coach in school history. Black’s leadership earned him honors such as the 2017 Leadership Award presented by the Mayor of the City of Belmont, the “Ace Adams” Sportsmanship Award, and multiple accolades for his excellence in community engagement efforts and the recruiting and retention of players. Black later guided Metropolitan State University in Denver to its best start in school history (7-0) before the COVID pandemic.

A four-year starting midfielder at NDNU from 2004-08, Black helped lead his team to an impressive 41-11 record, consistently ranking among the nation’s top programs each year. “Growing the game in Lincoln and making a positive impact on our players and the surrounding community is exactly the challenge I’ve been looking for. I’m so grateful for this opportunity,” said Black. “The energy and support from the Board have been infectious, and I’m confident all the pieces exist to build the Rampage into a championship-caliber program once again.”

Lincoln Rampage Lacrosse welcomes Coach Black as the Rampage prepare for an exciting future ahead, filled with promise and ambition. The program looks forward to building on its strong tradition with Coach Black's experienced leadership at the helm.
